A Room in Bloom in Athlone was set up to offer people exquisite, contemporary and emotive \u00a0floristry \u00a0for their wedding day.\u00a0 They create a floral selection, theme and package that suits your personal style and tastes. They want YOU to be the\u00a0designer\u00a0and the inspiration for your bridal flowers.\u00a0 I have worked with Laura for many years and I got her to do my wedding day flowers in 2017.<\/p>\n

1. Why and when did you setup your business? How long are you in<\/strong>
\nthe industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have been working in floristry full time since 2011 but it\u2019s
\nbeen a hobby for years while working in Horticulture I did wedding
\nflowers in my spare time. I decided after working as locum florist for
\ntwo years that I wanted to open a shop in Athlone. There is only one
\nother flower shop in the town so decided there was an opportunity. So
\nI opened in December 2011 and enjoying it.<\/p>\n

2. What products can you supply?<\/strong><\/p>\n

All floral wedding decor, Bouquets, buttonholes, corsages, church
\narrangements, entrance trees, candelabra hire, lantern hire. Basically
\nanything you can image if I don\u2019t have it I will get it or get you a supplier<\/p>\n

3. What advice would you have for a bride?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t listen to too many people it\u2019s your wedding do what you want to
\nand go with your gut. Not what aunt Mary or the neighbours daughter
\ndid for her wedding.<\/p>\n

4. How can you help the couple prepare for their big day? What type<\/strong>
\nthings do you suggest?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I like most people am a visual learner so I am a huge fan of pinterest
\nsite, where you can organise images you see online. Make your own
\nwedding mood board it allows me to see their style and they to see
\nmine. Also tearing up magazines and taking photos on your phone.
\nI have some random pictures on my phone but they are thing I see,
\nI like and they inspire a thought. This helps all wedding suppliers to
\nsee what it is you want and envision for your day.<\/p>\n

5. Any wedding tips?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Put your own stamp on your wedding day. I always love when a bride
\ncomes to me with a crazy odd request or idea. Your wedding day as
\nthe saying goes \u201cis your day\u201d, so it should reflect you as a couple your
\njourney, love, dreams and style.<\/p>\n

6. Any information on what meaning different flowers mean\/time of<\/strong>
\nthe year etc!!<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are lots of meaning\u2019s, Kate Middleton selected some of hers on
\nmeaning alone!<\/p>\n

Red rose \u2013 Love\/Passion, Sunflower \u2013 Power, Lily \u2013 Virtue, Tulip \u2013
\nhopeless love, Gypsophlia \u2013 everlasting love, Ivy \u2013 fidelity, wedded
\nlove and affection. One the Grooms like, White rose \u2013 silence\/peace<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What can I do to keep my flowers looking fresh all day so my<\/strong>
\nevening guests can see my bouquet at its best?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is really up to me (your florist) to advice you as best we can with
\nflower selection and seasonal availability. Some flowers will be affected
\nby heat more so than others so not to be used in the height of summer.
\nAlso all florists (good ones) leave flowers in water till the last possible
\nmoment so your bouquet should be looking good all day<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What are your most popular packages? What is most popular trend<\/strong>
\nat the moment in wedding flowers?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The vintage theme is still very popular and themes in general are very popluar. A little thought and
\nco-ordination can make a huge impact. Fun wedding I did recently
\nwas Marvel comic theme colours to the cake topper was amazing. In
\nbouquets the more loose country style is taking over from the classic
\nrose bouquet<\/p>\n

9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Do you have any special offers on at the moment?<\/strong><\/p>\n

10.\u00a0\u00a0 Any funny stories you heard about weddings you were involved<\/strong>
\nwith(no names necessary)<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have to say bridesmaids always make me laugh. I have met some
\nwho think that its their big day and pay no attention to the bride. At
\none wedding a bridesmaid stood on the brides veil outside the church
\nyanking her hair with it. Brides scream was heard in the church.
\nBridesmaid walked off leaving father of the bride, driver and myself to
\ncomfort bride, dry tears and fix hair,\u00a0 make up and hide the hole in her veil.
\nThe bridesmaid then poked head out and told us to hurry up! Took alot
\nfor me to bite my lip and keep professional at that moment. On the flip
\nside there are those bridesmaids who are so nervous that bride has to
\ncalm them down before they walk up the aisle!<\/p>\n
