The photo that I took recently of Athlone that included the new Luan Gallery and St Peter’s and Paul’s Church in the background is to going to be used the by the national television broadcaster RTE for the background for their Midland Studio.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The photograph had previously being used on the front page of the Christmas Edition of the Westmeath Independent and got huge publicity on Facebook when the picture went Viral.\u00a0 I got a tour of the RTE Studios today by RTE’s Midland Correspondent\u00a0 Ciaran Mullooly. \u00a0 He said that the photograph mixed the old with new parts of the town and it was symbolic on how the town is developing.<\/p>\n

The photo is also used in the new Fuji Centre in Golden Island Shopping Centre as the backdrop of the recently opened shop.\u00a0 The owner Pearse O’Connell saw the picture on Facebook and wanted it to be the backdrop to his new store.\u00a0 He is selling mounted copies of the image in his shop at the moment.<\/p>\n
